Is this the same as an emergency binder checklist?
Yes. The checklist covers what goes in a family emergency binder: contacts, medications, insurance, legal documents, accounts and access. CareTabs is the digital version that stays current, and your Emergency Go Kit prints from it.
What is CareTabs?
An encrypted digital vault for your family’s medical, insurance, legal and financial records. Every person you look after gets the same nine tabs, and you choose who else can see them.
What do I get without paying?
As many people as you look after, every profile others share with you, unlimited sharing, and 1 GB of document storage. Every record type, global search and the Emergency Go Kit are included.
Is my personal information secure?
Each person you look after is encrypted separately with AES-256 and a key of their own. Records are stored on Microsoft Azure and the keys are kept separately in Azure Key Vault. Card details go straight to Stripe.
Can I share access with family or caregivers?
Yes. Invite anyone by email to one profile at a time, with Read Only access (view everything, change nothing) or Admin access (view and edit). Sharing is unlimited on every plan, including free.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for, then you are back on free. Nothing is deleted: every profile, document and record stays readable and downloadable.
Is CareTabs SOC 2 certified?
Not yet, and we won’t claim it until it’s earned. We have begun preparing for a SOC 2 audit. The protections above are already in place.
